NELSON CURLING CLUB 1898-2007

The Nelson Curling Club has been in existence for a very long time. Perhaps the best expression of how long that time is appears at left. Citizens of this city had begun gathering together to form the first Nelson Curling Club five years before the advent of the age of powered flight in 1903.

In the 109 years which have passed since then, curling and the Nelson club have continously played a major part in the sporting life of our community. Thousands of people have launched close to 2,000,000 rocks down the ice of a number of facilities that have hosted the club.
